FUSTIPEN Inauguration and First FUSTIPEN Workshop

« Bridging the Atlantic with Exotic Isotope Physics »

January, 18-19, 2011, GANIL, Caen, France

Overview
The inaugural FUSTIPEN Workshop will be held on January 18-19, 2011 at the GANIL Guesthouse. The meeting is a merger of two events: (i) the FUSTIPEN inauguration meeting, including representatives of the U.S Department of Energy, Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique (CEA), and Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS/IN2P3), and (ii) the First FUSTIPEN Workshop “Bridging the Atlantic with Exotic Isotope Physics”, covering nuclear structure and reactions, nuclear astrophysics, and tests of the standard model.

The purpose of the meeting is to bring together scientists from both sides of the Atlantic with common interests in the physics of exotic nuclei. One important aspect of the meeting will be on topics related to the future collaborations between French and U.S. groups. The FUSTIPEN Workshop will focus on theory collaborations but experimentalists interested in forging collaboration with theorists are welcome to attend.
