«Introduction to Nuclear Effective Field Theories»
February 28 - March 2, 2011, GANIL, Caen, France

Abstract:
One of the main goals of nuclear physics is to understand the emergence of nuclear physics from the underlying theory of strong interactions, Quantum Chromodynamics. How effective field theories (EFTs) help with this task will be subject of three two-hour informal lectures by Professor U. van Kolck from the University of Arizona. Additional information can be found in the lecture program.
